From 2009 to 2011 I lived in a lakeside city on the edge of southern Switzerland and Italy, studying Art History and being surrounded by an old Italian dialect. Before arriving in Lugano I had never been out of the United States, and as a Montana girl used to the woods and a rural life, suddenly surrounded by obscene wealth and Baroque opulence, my imagination went wild. It wasn't until my final semester, when the cost of being there grew too much, that I finally brought a few rolls of film and documented Primavera in one of the most beautiful places I'd ever been. I hope you feel some of the wonder I did looking at these photos.
